Concordia Plan Services Appoints Kevin Herweck as Chief Executive Officer

by Concordia Plan Services
Kirkwood, Missouri — Concordia Plan Services’ (CPS) Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Kevin Herweck has accepted the appointment to serve as Chief Executive Officer, effective April 13, 2026.

Herweck joined CPS in August 2022 as Assistant Vice President of Mission Integration. He later served as Vice President and Chief Product Officer, and most recently as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.

“The Board was unanimous and confident in its decision to appoint Kevin as Chief Executive Officer,” said Scott Seefeld, Chair of the CPS Board of Directors. “In our discernment, we affirmed Kevin’s executive leadership, strategic clarity, and deep understanding of—and commitment to—the responsibility CPS carries in serving the ministries of LCMS and caring for church workers.”

“I am honored by the Board’s confidence and grateful for the opportunity to serve Concordia Plan Services,” said Kevin. “CPS plays a vital role in serving ministries and caring for those who serve the Church, and I am thankful for the strong foundation entrusted to me as I look forward to working alongside the Board, leadership team, and staff to faithfully steward this mission going forward.”

Herweck succeeds Jim Sanft, who served Concordia Plan Services as President and CEO since 2008.

“Kevin is a strong, principled leader with the experience and discernment needed to guide CPS into its next chapter,” said Sanft. “He brings both strategic insight and a deep respect for CPS’s mission and people, and I am confident he will lead the organization with steadiness, faithfulness, and vision.”

An installation service will be held during Chapel at the LCMS International Center in St. Louis on Monday, May 18.
