Seminary Student Health Benefits

Seminary Student Health Coverage

Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri, and Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana, offer health coverage through the Concordia Health Plan.

Concordia Seminary Student Option (CSS) provides comprehensive coverage to meet the needs of you and your family. The Option CSS has a $500 deductible for individuals and a $1,000 deductible for families. Once the deductible has been satisfied, you pay 20 percent coinsurance on network expenses. Option CSS covers medical, prescription drug, mental health and substance abuse expenses. In addition, you and your family have access to health and financial wellness resources to help on the journey to well-being.

Option CSS offers you greater benefits if you access care through a network physician and use network providers for health services.

When Taking a Call
When waiting for a call, students and their eligible dependents are able to keep coverage for up to 15 months following graduation if they are working on a dissertation or waiting for a call. When accepting a new call, students should ask their new employer:
  1. Do you offer/am I eligible for early enrollment?
  2. Do you offer more than one health plan option? If so, what are my choices?
  3. How much do you, as the employer, contribute to my premiums and my dependents’ premiums?
