Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri, and Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana, offer health coverage through the Concordia Health Plan.
Concordia Seminary Student Option (CSS) provides comprehensive coverage to meet the needs of you and your family. The Option CSS has a $500 deductible for individuals and a $1,000 deductible for families. Once the deductible has been satisfied, you pay
20 percent coinsurance on network expenses. Option CSS covers medical, prescription drug, mental health and substance abuse expenses. In addition, you and your family have access to health and financial wellness resources to help on the journey to
well-being.
Option CSS offers you greater benefits if you access care through a network physician and use network providers for health services.
When waiting for a call, students and their eligible dependents are able to keep coverage for up to 15 months following graduation if they are working on a dissertation or waiting for a call. When accepting
a new call, students should ask their new employer:
Do you offer/am I eligible for early enrollment?
Do you offer more than one health plan option? If so, what are my choices?
How much do you, as the employer, contribute to my premiums and my dependents’ premiums?

The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. Tab will move on to the next part of the site rather than go through menu items.
Option CSS
Option CSS offers members greater benefits if they access care through a network physician and use network providers for health services. The member does not have to select a primary care physician and can self-refer to any specialist in the network. If non-network providers are used, benefits are still payable, but with higher deductibles and out-of-pocket exposure.
Option CSS includes medical and preventive care, along with dental care, vision care, hearing care discounts, and health and financial wellness resources. These benefits ensure that you have comprehensive health coverage as you prepare to become a part of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod professional church worker community.

Vicars are not eligible for enrollment through their LCMS employer unless they have completed all other requirements for graduation and are on their vicarage during their final year of school. Deferred, delayed and convertible vicars may be eligible for enrollment, as determined by their employer. If the employer elects to enroll the vicar, he must be enrolled in all of the plans offered at the organization.
