Someone on your team has a story worth sharing
Concordia Plan Services partners with LCMS ministries to support workers’ well-being — mind, body and future — so they can serve with confidence and peace of mind.
We’re gathering short stories from workers about how their benefits have made a difference for them. If someone on your team has a story, encourage him/her to share (about 200 words) using this simple submission form.
Don't let small mistakes create big coverage problems
As fall approaches, it can be a busy time for hiring and enrollment updates. A few common oversights can lead to coverage issues — here’s what to watch for:
Report new hires and changes promptly. Delays in submitting enrollments or eligibility changes can lead to gaps in coverage. Be sure to submit updates as soon as possible.
Don’t miss life event deadlines. Qualifying life events (like marriage or the birth of a child) must be submitted within 60 days of the qualifying event. Late submissions may limit a worker’s ability to make benefit changes.
Employees expected to work more than 20 hours per week for more than five consecutive months must be enrolled in the Concordia Retirement Plan pension and the Concordia Disability and Survivor Plan.
Health plan eligibility varies based on your organization’s defined hours threshold.

Yes, that was us —here’s why you’re seeing our ads
We’ve been running video ads since March and occasionally we’ll get questions like, “Why are you advertising on television or websites when only the LCMS can use your products?"
Concordia Plan Services does not advertise to the general public, but we do use an ad placement service to reach members and ministries where they’re already online, to help them better understand their benefits. Ads may highlight our retirement, health and wellness benefits, as well as resources.
Our ads are shown only to audiences connected to email addresses we have on file and associated devices. This privacy-conscious approach does not identify individuals or track personal activity. Instead, it helps make sure information is delivered only to those who would benefit from it. This targeted approach is a cost-effective way to communicate with members and ministries while reducing overall email volume.
Our goal is simple: to help workers better understand and appreciate the benefits their employers provide through Concordia Plan Services.
Help your workers prepare financially for life-changing events by offering Critical Illness and Accidental Injury Insurance. This coverage helps your workers create a safety net for their families by extending coverage beyond their health insurance plans. Learn more about offering these benefits.
Here’s a brief description you can share with your workers to help them understand these coverage options:
Find peace of mind with extra coverage A worrisome medical diagnosis or an accident can occur at any time. Critical Illness and Accidental Injury Insurance can help you create a safety net for your families by covering expenses not covered by your health insurance plan, so you can focus on healing, not financial worries.
Critical illness insurance pays a lump-sum benefit directly to you if you or a family member is diagnosed with a covered condition.
Accidental Injury Insurance pays a benefit directly to you if you or a family member need treatment after an accident.
NEW FOR 2027– More value, same cost Both Critical Illness and Accidental Injury Insurance plans are being enhanced for 2027 with no increase to member rates. Enhancements include:
New $50 Annual Wellness Benefit – Get rewarded for taking care of your health. Workers and their covered family members can receive a $50 benefit each year for completing an eligible preventive service, such as an annual checkup, dental exam, vision exam, mammogram or other qualifying health screening.
New Sports Accident Benefit – Whether on the field, court or rink, Accidental Injury Insurance now includes additional protection for covered injuries resulting from organized and recreational sports activities, helping protect active workers and their covered family members.
The Personal Statement of Benefits is a great way for your workers to see an overview of the valuable benefits you provide through Concordia Plan Services.
