Concordia Plan Services works with the Concordia University System to place several interns each spring for work throughout the summer break. These internships include financial, technical, and communications positions and include benefits, pay, and housing. These positions can present future Professional Church Workers with networking opportunities that will be invaluable upon graduation.

Director, Ministry Resources - Recommends and presents potential new products and services that support the CPS goals of partnering LCMS Ministries to Executive team. Researches, designs, and recommends impactful/unique products and solutions related to area of ministry needs or challenges. Develops relationships with LCMS staff both within International Center, LCMS District Business Managers, and other LCMS ministries.

Employer Resources Consultant - Operate as the lead point of contact for any and all matters specific to area customers and prospects. Develop a trusted advisor relationship with those customers, ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to customer needs and objectives, and other duties as assigned. The Employer Resources Consultant reports to the Director of Employer Resources.

Executive Administrative Assistant - Provides executive assistance to senior CPS Executive Team member and his / her staff. Provides in-depth administrative support to the CPS Board process. With support from the Special Assistant to the President & CEO, has the responsibility to make certain that any problems, needs, and situations requiring immediate attention are addressed by the appropriate personnel when the Executive is absent. PCoordinates the schedule of assigned executive leader with judgment and prioritization, with a high degree of attention to detail. Other duties as assigned. The Executive Administrative Assistant reports to the Vice President of Operations / COO.

Intern - Business Analyst - The purpose of this position is to analyze business processes, optimize resource utilization and design future business state. Participates in interviews and meetings with stakeholders to gather business requirements. Assists in analysis and documents business requirements, processes and data needs for an area’s current-state and/or proposed future-state system using standard templates. Explores alternatives and potential solutions to business needs, issues and problems. Other duties as assigned. The Business Analyst Intern reports to Senior Business Analyst.

Intern - Communications - Participates in communication projects to produce materials that support the Marketing and Communications mission (optimal member experience, employer growth and retention). Prepares communication pieces to share with LCMS employers, Concordia Plan members, and internal staff, including e-learning materials. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to assist with creation, quality control and internal approvals of plan change documents. Other duties as assigned. The Communications Intern reports to Director, Core Plan Communications.

Intern - Digital Media - Participates in projects to plan and produce digital media that supports the Corporate and Marketing strategic initiatives (member growth, worker wellness, risk management). Assists with content, design, and maintenance of the CPS websites and digital media. Helps in managing the content calendar and its integrated application across Communications channels and audience targets. Works with Communications, Products and Services, and Sales teams to develop targeted messaging for digital channels. Other duties as assigned. Assists Digital Communications Specialist in regularly monitoring analytics and creating reports, identifying trends, insights and making data-led recommendations for optimization. Digital Media Intern reports to Digital Media Specialist.

Intern - Health Services - With training provided by CPS on benefit plans, works to create knowledgeable, informed and engaged members and employers. Maintains and facilitates a confidential atmosphere when handling sensitive health benefit information. Other duties as assigned. The Health Services Intern reports to the Health Services Specialist.

Intern - Information Technology - With training provided by CPS on required technologies, develops new end user applications using and/or C# to ensure optimal system utilization and effectiveness. Leverages and modifies current software and applications to improve functionality. Assists with IT operations including deploying laptops, updating machines, working with Anti-Virus application and patch management solution. Other duties as assigned. Information Technology Intern reports to Director, Application Development.

Intern - Products & Services - With training provided by CPS on products and services, assists with specific projects and initiatives, under the supervision of a product/service director, to meet defined goals and objectives. Conducts research as requested on current or new products and services. Works with Actuarial Services on developing and analyzing Products & Services metrics and reports to be used in the financial management of the Concordia plans. Works with Communications to develop targeted messaging for specific initiatives. Attends vendor meetings as needed; with guidance, supports action items and follow-up activities. Other duties as assigned. The Products & Services Intern reports to Director, Retirement Products & Services.

Senior Staff Attorney - Handles a variety of complex legal matters and projects related to multiple-employer employee benefit plans. Prepares and reviews plan documents, employee communications, and board resolutions. Oversees regulatory matters, including filings related to retirement, health, and disability plans. Conducts and oversees legal research on retirement, health, and disability plans. Other duties as assigned. The Senior Staff Attorney reports to the General Counsel.
