Our benefit professionals help LCMS ministries make sound decisions regarding their employee benefits. Employer assistance includes providing benefit overviews, information on funding strategies, and other consultation services specific to your ministry.

Account Managers and Representatives work with defined regions so that each ministry will have someone specific that they can contact for benefit assistance. 

If your organization has 10 or more workers enrolled in the Concordia Retirement Plan, please contact the Account Manager serving your area. All other organizations should contact the designated Account Representative. Louis Johnson

Louis joined CPS in the fall of 2011. Louis has been working in the financial services industry for over 11 years as fee-based planner with Prudential Financial, U.S. Bank Private Client Group/Personal Trust, and U.S. Bancorp Investments, Inc., in Minneapolis/Saint Paul, Minn. Louis received his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Marketing in 1986 from Concordia College, Saint Paul (now Concordia University). Louis and his wife, Jennifer, and their son are members of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Eureka, Missouri.

Brian Evanson

Brian joined Concordia Plan Services in September 2015 as an Employer Resources Consultant. He became an independent insurance agent in 2006, specializing in individual, business, Medicare, and estate planning. In 2007, Brian’s focus changed to servicing Lutheran churches and schools throughout Michigan. He has assisted hundreds of congregations through difficult budget issues concerning health care and benefits. Brian is also a member of National Association of Health Underwriters. Brian and his wife, Diane, have four adult children, and are members of St. John Lutheran Church in Rochester, Michigan.
Kim Hoover

Kim joined Concordia Plan Services in June 2015, bringing with her experience from several benefits administration companies. She served as a director of benefits for large manufacturing employers, an account executive with a benefit consulting firm, and a client relationship manager with a national insurance carrier. Kim graduated Summa Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in Business/Human Resources Management from American Intercontinental University. Kim and her husband, Phil, have two children and four grandchildren.

Brad joined Concordia Plan Services in August 2015. He previously served as the National Accounts Manager for Concordia Publishing House. Brad earned his bachelor’s degree in Business and also has an extensive background in radio. Brad and his wife, Kathy, have three grown children, and are members of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Eureka, Missouri.
Desmond Kittelson

Desmond joined Concordia Plan Services in August 2015. For 23 years he worked as a territory account manager with Lifetouch School Portraits. He has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing from the University of Oklahoma. Desmond enjoys spending his free time with his wife, Karen, and their two daughters. They are members at St. Paul's Lutheran in Des Peres.
Brad Peterson

CPS welcomed Brad to the team in June 2010. Brad has an extensive background in personal financial planning having worked with MetLife and Thrivent since 1983. He has achieved membership in the Million Dollar Round Table, a professional trade association that helps life insurance and financial services professionals establish best business practices and develop ethical and effective ways to increase client interest in financial products, specifically life insurance, disability, and long-term care. Brad’s professional designations include CLU, ChFC, FIC, and LUTCF. Brad and his wife, Nancy, have two adult children, four grandchildren, and are members of Timothy Lutheran in Blue Springs, Missouri.
Melodie Powers

Melodie joined CPS in 2005 as the Director of Health Plans and Services. In 2014, she transitioned to her new position where she serves the large employer groups enrolled in the Concordia Plans. Prior to CPS, Melodie worked in the employee benefits field for over 20 years with large insurance companies such as Blue Cross Blue Shield and Delta Dental. Melodie received her bachelor’s degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Washington University in St. Louis and her master’s degrees in Human Resources Development from Webster University. She also maintains her Life, Accident and Health producer’s license for the State of Missouri. Melodie has three adult sons and two grandchildren.
Maureen Schneider

Maureen began serving at CPS in September 2007. She has over 42 years of experience in employee benefits including health plans, retirement, disability, savings, and life insurance. As a former life insurance broker, she continues to maintain the requirements for Missouri and Illinois Life and Health Licensing. Maureen has served in all facets of this industry — corporate administration, sales support, healthcare administration and providers, as well as at a brokerage firm. A graduate of the University of Missouri, she and her husband, Tom, have two adult sons and three grandsons.

Sally Malinee

Sally came Concordia Plan Services in September 2015 with a background in health education focused on community outreach initiatives. She was a registered dental hygienist for 28 years working in various private dental practices in Kansas City and St. Louis. After completing her second bachelor’s degree, Sally worked for Big Smiles, a company out of Michigan that sent mobile dental teams into schools to help reach the underserved populations. Sally received her bachelor’s degree in Science from Lindenwood University as well as in Dental Hygiene from the University of Missouri—Kansas City School of Dentistry.Sally and her husband, Dan, have 19-year-old twins, who are both sophomores in college.
Micaela Montalvo

Micaela has been assisting Concordia Plan Services members and employers since September 2006 and is familiar with all aspects of the Concordia Plans. She comes to the Employer Resources Specialist Team from Customer Care. Micaela is fluent in Spanish, and she uses her bilingual skills to respond to the needs of Spanish speaking members and employers. She has over 16 years of customer care experience. She is married to Enrique, and they have three children.

Erica joined Concordia Plan Services in 2008, and has held the positions of Enrollment Eligibility Representative, Quality Assurance Specialist, and now Employer Resources Specialist. She is knowledgeable in employer obligations, plan provision, forms and is accustomed with working one on one with employers and members. She and her husband, Dan, have three children.
