Pre-existing Determination

The vendor who administers the CHP benefits will determine whether a medical condition qualifies as a pre-existing condition based on the HIPAA certificate information. For medical care, Blue Cross Blue Shield would determine the condition. For mental health and substance abuse care, CIGNA would make that determination.
