Along
with the advantages of The Church’s Plan come shared
responsibilities for Concordia Plan Services, employers, and
workers. These responsibilities provide guidance on what each
individual in this partnership needs to do during the coming
months and beyond. |

Concordia
Plan Services
In this
partnership, Concordia Plan Services has the responsibility
to:
- Be
good stewards of the Plans—using employer and worker
contributions responsibly, managing the Plans well, and
maintaining low administrative costs.
- Work
to keep the Plans affordable.
- Help
to provide long-term financial security for LCMS workers
and retirees.
- Balance
the needs of Church employers, workers, and retirees.
- Do
the research to ensure we’re competitive.
- Provide
services to make employers’ and workers’ lives
easier, including good communication materials, Employer
Relations representatives, and Member Services.

Employers
The responsibilities
of employers are to:
- Provide
comprehensive and cost-effective benefits for your workers
and retirees.
- Encourage
your workers to save for the future—providing financial
education and effective savings vehicles.
- Consider
the needs of the broader Church by choosing to “walk
together” in The Church’s Plan.
- Understand
the flexibility Concordia Plan Services offers in The Church’s
Plan and other package choices—and make a decision
to offer the package that best meets the needs of your workers
and your ministry.
- Communicate
your decision to offer The Church’s Plan or another
option to your workers.

have a responsibility to:
- Stay
focused on your ministry.
- Share
in the cost of your health care and other benefits.
- Become
a knowledgeable healthcare consumer—“walking
together” with other Church workers and retirees by
using benefits dollars wisely.
- Think
about your wellness, and that of your family, by considering
how your lifestyle impacts your health and wellbeing.
- Prepare
for the future by planning and saving for retirement.
