Introduction to The Church's Plan

This year, The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod celebrates 40 years of providing benefits and services to Church workers and their families through the Concordia Plans.

Anniversaries provide an opportunity to celebrate past joys and blessings, and a time to look forward to see what work still needs to be done for His kingdom.

Looking back, The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) can celebrate and rejoice in 40 years of providing health, retirement, survivor, and disability benefits for Church workers and their families. Looking ahead, the LCMS is finding ways to best provide for those in His service for the next 40 years and counting by introducing a new packaged benefits offering.

Called simply The Church’s Plan, this package of benefits is designed with the specific needs of LCMS workers in mind. While The Church’s Plan offers employers a comprehensive, cost-effective benefits package they can trust to provide for their workers, there will be other options available to provide flexibility.

This special insert of the Reporter provides a brief overview of The Church’s Plan and other benefit changes in 2006. It also reviews why we’re making changes now and what the changes will mean for employers, workers, and retirees. This publication is just an announcement—employers, workers, and retirees will get more information in the coming weeks and months.
